5. Police Officer Jillian Johnson
a. Officer Johnson is one of three officers on night shift for our Team Area
b. Map 3 area worth mentioning
i. Strong arm robbery, probably person
ii. Complaint about high vs. junior high in Ingham Park
iii. Complaint about resident letting dog loose to scare children
c. A couple of burglaries in nearby areas.
d. Gold Cadillac Florida license plate today at 3pm taking pictures of neighborhood houses. Please call if you see this car.
e. Drunk driving flipped car at Mt Hope and Moores River Drive at 100 mph, last week
f. A speeder ran down an animal on Bellaire Drive last week
g. Complaints about 2-5am parking violations
h. There is an increase in break-ins
i. Please write down the serial numbers of all the expensive items in your home
6. Guest Speaker: Shirley Rogers - School Board Vice President
a. Will bring up with Lansing Public Service Board meeting.
b. Speak with Director of Public Safety about pick up issue with Lewton Elementary School
c. Ballot Issue on November 2nd to deal with aging school buildings
i. Lansing is the only district without a sinking fund mileage, while all other neighboring districts have such a mileage
ii. Many of the older buildings have PCB’s in light fixtures
iii. Children who are sickened by environment do not learn
iv. State does not contribute to building funding
v. We have many beautiful buildings that need attention
vi. Flooring issues
vii. Obsolete energy management systems
viii. Building wiring does not support current technology needs
ix. $1.5m for 5 yrs to raise $4M a year for a total of $20M. Back log requests exceed $200M
x. It is expected that improvements will save money and be available for other needs
xi. The Board unanimously put the ballot on the Nov 2.
xii. This will provide local jobs to the area for the next five years
xiii. Still lobbing for federal funds
d. Shirley is also on Ingham Board of Road Commission
i. She was presented our letter supporting a side walk on Waverly between Grand River and Old Lansing Road

a. Item 3.c correction on Treasurer’s report: $257.87 before paying $20 in dues to Lansing Neighborhood Council.

8. Treasurer’s Report
a. Check $11.94 reimbursement for cookies at Colonial/Averill/LRNA Meet the Candidates Night
b. Current total in Treasury is $225.93
9. Code Compliance: Walter Adams
a. Reviewing complaints from last month
b. One complaint was about filthy pools
c. Former city contractor did not actually clean up the private property pool that was filthy
d. Houses on Mt. Hope are now un-tagged
e. Another pool on Rositer may be an issue
f. House on Cooley has problem of junk in yard
g. There is a limit of four cars per household
h. People are parking on the grass during the weekends and evenings after 5pm because they know that code compliance officers are off duty, therefore, call police (483-4600 non-emergency number)
i. Police will write tickets after hours
i. It is against ordinance to sweep leaves into street
i. Please report any persons doing such
