4. Minutes - from February and March were approved by proper motion.
5. Treasurer’s Report - Balance $209.60. Treasurer Dick Stuckman said he will
be happy to take contributions, since this organization does not ask for dues.
6. Lansing Police Department’s Report
Sgt. Frank Koenigsknecht, came to our meeting even tho’ he was on
vacation. Thanks Sgt!! He passed out crime maps and the new South Precinct
Team list for April. LPD caught the young men who were responsible for a rash
of sling shots/ marble/ball bearing damage to vehicles. These guys should know
better as they were 18-19 years old.
He answered all questions and gave us some interesting tips to go home with,
about how to be safe.
GUEST SPEAKER: Marie Irish, Assessor for the City of Lansing gave an informative
talk to the group about our assessments. She said there are 46,000 parcels in
the city of Lansing. There are three commercial appraisers and three
residential appraisers. They appraise 20% of Lansing every year. 7,250 a
summer. She was most patient in answering questions.
7. County Commissioner’s Report – neither Commissioners Vic and Dale were able to be with us this evening. They were in meetings elsewhere in the city. Both sent regrets.
8. Mayor’s Office - no one available as the Mayor’s On the Road meeting was tonight at the same time, different location.
9. City Council’s Report -
Derrick Quinney,
Carol Wood and A’Lynne Robinson were present; Derrick came to the meeting after
leaving the picket line of Local 602 UAW and the Allied Workers. He also
mentioned the young boy who suffered personal injuries in the recent boxing
accident and said they collecting cans this weekend to help defray medical costs
and to also help re-build the family home, so he can come home. If you care to
donate, it’s the Juan Contreras Fund.
Carol and A’Lynne spoke on the budget. They also spoke on their reasons for the
Francis Park vote. They also touched on the golf courses and answered many
questions. They reminded everyone that the next budget meeting will be on April
22nd, in this room, and encouraged all to attend.
A’Lynne also mentioned that her 2nd Saturday of the month meetings are pretty
successful and well attended. The next one is Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m.
at Fire Station # 46, 5135 Pleasant Grove Road.
10. Code Compliance Officer’s Report Gregg Scrimger’s report, as usual, was
informative. As has been the case at many recent meetings, the same homes were
discussed. After he answered many of our questions, the group complimented
Gregg as there are several homes in the area that are much cleaner looking and
you can tell Gregg has done his job well. Thanks
Gregg!

12. New Business - none
Patty reminded everyone about the upcoming Garage Sale on Saturday, June 21st
and said that the board would be passing out flyers to the entire 500 homes in
our area, so everyone that wishes to can participate. On that flyer is a
reminder about the August 21st picnic.
She also asked everyone to look at the attachments in their packet for reminders
of important and informative events coming up in the city.
13. Good and Welfare - Teresa mentioned that there is a fund raiser at Haw
Island Park on May 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be another in
September of 08.
