iii.    30 Day Crime Map

1.      Door to Door person asking for $17, important to call in solicitor to police

2.      Lock vehicle doors and put away items to prevent last months three larcenies. Garage Door was open, and car doors were left unlocked and rifled during the night.

iv.     Report and caution solicitors even over phone.

v.       Question about attempted break in at Grand-Haven. LPD supposedly caught the person, possible prowling.

vi.     Malicious destruction at Grand Haven and May Flower Church and Lewton School.

1.      There is a Graffiti hot line of 483-4264.           

vii.            Lewton Rich Parking Sign.

i.                   School Principal & City Engineer removed them without notifying the Police.

ii.                Police had site down with crossing guard

iii.              Possible (trial) of cone course.

viii.         Questions/clarification: 2-5 no parking. Un-officially not enforced Fri-Sun.

7.      County Commissioners

x.     Vic Celentino:

i.                   Congratulation to A’Lynne

ii.                Passed budget 2008, no lay-offs and restored some positions in Sherif Department and Prosecutor’s office.

iii.              Airport –– Alligent Airlines is cutting Las Vegas route as of January 4th; 2007.  The Airport Authority did try to sweeten the deal to try to keep them. They are keeping the Florida route. Las Vegas route may come back if barrel goes down.

xi.  Dale Copedge:

i.                   Congratulation to A’Lynne

ii.                Road Patrol, to fix 2009 budget if possibly cut. Pro-active to dialog with townships to cost-share road patrol, out-county are not passing mil’s to fund road patrol.

iii.              Road Patrol –– was a free service, until recent funding has dried-up.

iv.              Jail over-crowding ; adjusting service to reduce recitation; substance abuse treatment and jail entry programs, etc¼¼

v.                 911 Center

1.      Consolidation Lansing and East Lansing.

2.      Backup

3.      Improvement with dropped calls to emergency providers.

a.      New tower to help

b.      Change of frequency

c.      Was 1% now 0.2% above should improve better?

4.      Questions/clarification about inmate clothing colors: orange/incarceration, awaiting another color for others.

7.    Mayors Report –– Josh

iii.    . Proposal to build band shell for Adado park. Current rentals are always booked.

i.                   Band-shell city market and re-build,

1.      investigating full or ¾ year with vendors.

2.      No use of park land, developer is Pat Gillespie

3.      House Lansing Symphony Orchestra

8.    City Council –– Kathie Dunbar

i.       . City project to go to single lanes, to reduce emission.

ii.    . Several lights have been turned to yellow blinking.

iii.  . Projects for downtown are nice, but there is no re-investment in south end.

i. Proposal for non-motorized roadway in South West part of Lansing (our version of river trail).

ii.                Use the Consumer Energy High Power Lines start out from Benjamin Davis Park. To start with Hawk Island to Benjamin Davis Park.

iv.     Transportation enhancement along East side of Waverly Road.

v.       Meeting Sat, Dec 8th Fire station #6 1:30 to 3:30pm. To prioritize tasks of plan with park milage funding.

vi.     Moores River to Mt. Hope

1.      Future enhancement of Waverly /Grand River bridge.

a.      Right of way on north side is 8 ft.

vi.              Wuldemar tried to keep area green to increase safety of area.

vii.            Plan to extend river trail though to Waverly Road.

9.      Code Compliance Report –– Gregg Scrimger

i.        . House on Victor tagged, one for sale, one was open and sanitation then secured, being foreclosed as of July.

ii.      . Lewton and Belaire still has a pod and now there is a dumpster.

iii.    . Re-roofing mustard yellow house, checked and it is not rental. Good shape inside.

iv.     . House on Beliare is pink tagged, need to register as land contract.

v.     . House on Hampton is for sale, minor issue, open accessible.  In foreclosure.
