1.    Welcome—Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. 
2.    Pledge 
3.    Introductions—19 people present 
4.    Minutes, read and approved 
5.    Treasurer’s report: Still some outstanding checks, made $1.80 in interest, current balance is $94.11. 
6.    Lansing Police Department: Officer Jason Bock was present and reported on offenses in our area. There was a home invasion south of the neighborhood, and the suspect was arrested. Again, we need to be vigilant at looking around and reporting suspicions behavior. Call LPD at 483-4600. Keep doors locked and garage doors down. 
7.    Neighborhood Watch: 
    a.    Silver Bells in the City Parade will kick off at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, November 18th in downtown Lansing.
    b.    The Neighborhood Watch Advisory Board will have a float in the Silver Bells Parade. It will be at number the 36 spot.
8.    City Council’s report: It was reported that Kathie Dunbar was elected to the City Council; her term will start on January 1st. In addition, she will fill the vacant seat (formerly held by Larry Meyer) on City Council from Monday, November 21st through the end of the year.  No announcement on last day for leaf pick-up. The city is running behind in this endeavor since the leaf pick-up has increased by hundreds of bags, They are picking-up leaves, albeit it late. Council is reviewing it’s snow-plowing policy. They plow after 2” on the main roads and 4” on residential streets—this policy may change (for the better).
9.    County Commissioner’s Report: Vic Celentino, our county commissioner reported that they have lost their County Controller as our new Mayor has asked him to be his Chief of Staff. Commissioners will be busy searching for his replacement. County Commissioner Chris Swope was elected City Clerk therefore a new person will be appointed to serve in his place. It will be an appointment. Nov. 28, 2006 will be the county board leadership meeting. Vic will become the new chair of the County Commissioners, since he’s an experienced chairman. John Nielson is the Deputy Controller and he will become Acting Controller until the new person is chosen. 
10.    Code Compliance officer: He was unable to attend. (Editor’s note: This is the first meeting in the history of our association that he has missed)
11.    Michigan Senator’s report: Derek Quinney reported on behalf of Senator Virg Bernero and his assistant Joe McDonald. He stated that things are pretty busy for the Senator, closing the senate office, opening the transition office, etc. The address of the transition office is 333 Capitol Avenue, across from the library. Virg intends on being very inclusive in the city, and if you have suggestions for the transition team, you can email them to transition@lansingsfuture.com
