The spot on the corner of Hampden/Hanover was brought up and this area will be watched. Also, the corner or Victor and Viking, people don’t stop at the sign. Also, concern about the speed on Victor. Also, mentioned were the no parking signs on Lewton and people parking there.

Randy Williams: Public Comment: Talked about the newsletter that he developed, re city council, importance of neighborhood developments, noted roads finished, weeds being taken care of. Question asked about phone tree—Colonial Village does,
Question raised about dog leavings on lawn. Talked about the idea of people knowing the law about picking up. Maybe make it a newsletter item to inform people about the issue.
It was mentioned about hearing Randy on WKAR and how eloquently he spoke.
He also spoke about the issue of bike lanes on Pleasant Grove. City engineer who put lines down did not have the authority to do this from city or council. Discussion about idea of having bike lanes. Main complaint was that neighborhoods didn’t have the option to comment on this issue. Issue was what do we think about Pleasant Grove
Question about role of council person and us as a group. Randy said that he is a liaison between the neighborhood and the city council.
Old business:
A. Curve of Hampden and Hanover. Talked about this with Jason Boch, and he will have someone come to the next meeting. We had talked about putting a no parking sign on that area. It will need to go to the traffic board—we are asking Randy to help us with this. He asked us to address a letter to the transportation office. Also, the question about a “Slow—children” sign also. Asked for a motion about a no parking sign on the curve. Motion made and supported, and passed. Second motion to have a “slow—children” on the same curve. Motion made to send letter , amendment made to add Belaire Dr., made and supported, and passed.
B. Racial profiling: Need to get someone here to talk to us about us. Report done by city of Lansing and consultant firm, concluded that there was no statistical significance here. Issue here was walking—kids didn’t fit the profile. This issue was brought up during the last meeting with Kristy. We will try to get someone here to address this.
